Letter to Mr. Bush from Michael Moore's site. Truth hurts, huh?

Vacation is Over... an open letter from Michael Moore to George W. Bush

Friday, September 2nd, 2005

Dear Mr. Bush:

Any idea where all our helicopters are? It's Day 5 of Hurricane Katrina and thousands remain stranded in New Orleans and need to be airlifted. Where on earth could you have misplaced all our military choppers? Do you need help finding them? I once lost my car in a Sears parking lot. Man, was that a drag.

Also, any idea where all our national guard soldiers are? We could really use them right now for the type of thing they signed up to do like helping with national disasters. How come they weren't there to begin with?

Last Thursday I was in south Florida and sat outside while the eye of Hurricane Katrina passed over my head. It was only a Category 1 then but it was pretty nasty. Eleven people died and, as of today, there were still homes without power. That night the weatherman said this storm was on its way to New Orleans. That was Thursday! Did anybody tell you? I know you didn't want to interrupt your vacation and I know how you don't like to get bad news. Plus, you had fundraisers to go to and mothers of dead soldiers to ignore and smear. You sure showed her!
I especially like how, the day after the hurricane, instead of flying to Louisiana, you flew to San Diego to party with your business peeps. Don't let people criticize you for this -- after all, the hurricane was over and what the heck could you do, put your finger in the dike?
And don't listen to those who, in the coming days, will reveal how you specifically reduced the Army Corps of Engineers' budget for New Orleans this summer for the third year in a row. You just tell them that even if you hadn't cut the money to fix those levees, there weren't going to be any Army engineers to fix them anyway because you had a much more important construction job for them -- BUILDING DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ!

On Day 3, when you finally left your vacation home, I have to say I was moved by how you had your Air Force One pilot descend from the clouds as you flew over New Orleans so you could catch a quick look of the disaster. Hey, I know you couldn't stop and grab a bullhorn and stand on some rubble and act like a commander in chief. Been there done that.

There will be those who will try to politicize this tragedy and try to use it against you. Just have your people keep pointing that out. Respond to nothing. Even those pesky scientists who predicted this would happen because the water in the Gulf of Mexico is getting hotter and hotter making a storm like this inevitable. Ignore them and all their global warming Chicken Littles. There is nothing unusual about a hurricane that was so wide it would be like having one F-4 tornado that stretched from New York to Cleveland.

No, Mr. Bush, you just stay the course. It's not your fault that 30 percent of New Orleans lives in poverty or that tens of thousands had no transportation to get out of town. C'mon, they're black! I mean, it's not like this happened to Kennebunkport. Can you imagine leaving white people on their roofs for five days? Don't make me laugh! Race has nothing -- NOTHING -- to do with this!

You hang in there, Mr. Bush. Just try to find a few of our Army helicopters and send them there. Pretend the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast are near Tikrit.

Yours,

Michael MooreMMFlint@aol.com

P.S. That annoying mother, Cindy Sheehan, is no longer at your ranch. She and dozens of other relatives of the Iraqi War dead are now driving across the country, stopping in many cities along the way. Maybe you can catch up with them before they get to DC on September 21st.

random thoughts:

ROCKSTAR INXS has to be one of the worst reality shows out there and I should know... I think I watch all the reality shows.

Being Bobby Brown and Cathouse on HBO are 2 of my faves right now...

here is a fun fact for you from the 1999 NBA draft:
No. 26 pick Vonteego Cummings got his first name after a neighbor combined the names of two cars, "The Volkswagen and the Montego." And he's not kidding.

awesome.

at first, I was going to tell everyone to stay away from these new BAKED Crunchy cheetos that I tried out. Let me tell you, I am a HUGE fan of the regular crunchy cheetos. I can eat a whole bag in one sitting. so I put the first few in my mouth and I was thoroughly repulsed. it tasted dry, bland.... it just didnt do the regular cheetos any justice... then I thought about all the calories and fat that are in the regular ones.... ya know what? the more I ate these things, the better they started to taste to me.....

Who would have thought that wedding planning could be so hard!!!! I thought that the planning would already be done and all I had to do was show up in a tux and everything would be ready for me and my wife.... the major things I dont mind because I accounted for most of it, but it is the little things that are killing us. when we thought we were ready, all of a sudden, 15 more things pop up on our agenda. But planning is fun though and I am sure it will be all worth it in the end. Right now, I have to give big props to my photographer and brand spanking new friend Vin. (http://www.buddy-puppy.com ) without him and his crew, the wedding planning would all be in shambles. thanks brother for all your help!!!

oh yeah.... just in case some people dont know yet.... I am setting the date for sometime in November. Most likely either the 12th or the 26th.... I know... I know... thanksgiving time and all.... but the dates were chosen as a result from things beyond my control. Originally I wanted the 19th so people can be back by thanksgiving if they wanted.... But after asking a monk what dates were good in November, he said all saturdays but the one we chose. so... we are down to the 12th and 26th... whichever we can get for the places we chose to have our wedding.

I think the 2 places where we have narrowed it down to are:
The Sukhothai Hotel : http://www.sukhothai.com/index.htm
The Grand Hyatt Erawan : http://bangkok.grand.hyatt.com/bangh/index.shtml

hopefully one of these 2 places will be available for that date.....

First things first, I wanted to wish everyone a happy new year. Mayeveryone be healthier, wealthier and wiser.

Second, I wanted to thank peoples for their concern with the regardsto the tsunami. All my family and friends that live in Kao lak, and phuket (2 of the hardest hit places in Thailand) are all safe and their businesses were able to be salvaged. It was a blessing that Aoy's visa hadnt processed last week. Originally we had booked avacation for Kao Lak, Similan Islands, and Phuket for a Christmas vacation. Since we were still waiting for Aoy's visa to process, we had to cancel the vacation. As of right now, all the hotels that we had booked at, no longer exist as of this moment. So thank you Japanese embassy for being slow as hell with the processing, but F theJapanese embassy for rejecting her visa to Japan as of this past monday.

But anyways, I am back in the states now as of new years eve. I already gave the bad news with Aoy not being able to get her visa approved to Japan. So as a result she wasnt able to reunite with her parents who have lived there for 15 years. But I guess with the bad news, there has to be good news to balance things out. As of Christmas Day, I turned in my lifetime playa card and I proposed to my girlfriend Aoy. For those of you who didnt even know I had a girlfriend, I met her over a year ago in Bangkok. She was introduced to me by a friend and we had been dating ever since. So Paulie is a happy boy. Right now I am in the process of sending out her visa application for her to move over here permanently. I guess in the next few months everyone will get to meet her. Now that I am back in the states, hopefully I will get to see everyone soon.... I promise to do a better job of keeping in touch!! REALLY!!!!

much love,
:Paulie

I had an interesting dream just now. I dreamt of my sister I think for the first time since everything occured over 3 years ago. It pretty much centered around my sister and my dog... for the first time, (don't tell Aoy) I let the dog sleep on my bed next to me since I will not be seeing her for about 2 months because she will be staying with my aunt for 2 weeks and I will be going to thailand (run on sentence)... oh yeah... by the way, I will be going to thailand and Japan for 2 months.... Back to the dream. so I dreamt that for some reason, the dog was in a serious funk. wouldnt sleep, wouldnt eat, wouldnt play... no matter who tried to, she wouldnt play. Then all of a sudden, my sister appeared. She was dressed in a white dress, and white shoes, and smiling from ear to ear. all of a sudden, the dog is happy, excited and playing again....

Then I was woken up by my annoying Doraemon clock.

Man... it just makes me sad to be an American today that our country has re-elected Bush. I received about 5 emails from friends in other countries just pretty much laughing at our stupidity. What about this guy is there to like? what would make someone vote for him? I just dont understand people sometimes. I can probably go on for pages and pages on what this guy is a moron and why he is bad for our country, but whatever. the dumb have spoken.

So I went to big Jay's surprise birthday/going away party this past weekend and a nightmare of mine came true. I was surrounded by a bunch of optimistic Red Sox Fans.... it was funny listening to them and not saying anything as they ranted and raved about how they "killed" the yankees on Friday. Little did they know as we were talking, the Yankees were going on to beat them 14-4 and then 11-2 on sunday. But we wont get into that... Nothing cracks me up more than how every year, they are always optimistic at the beginning of the season... but then are all let down by the end... gotta love it.

Every year, this is hands down the most difficult time of the year for me.... this period from August 17th, my sister's birthday, until today... I miss my sister. I miss her a lot. She was such a beautiful girl with such a beautiful heart. When things went down 3 years ago, we were becoming closer friends, closer brother and sister, than when we had ever been. There hasnt been a day that has passed where I havent thought about her a thousand times.

I just wanted to thank all my friends and family for being there for me, and always being there for me and helping me get through everything.

Chinese food has not been winning me over lately. this is the 2nd time in just as many times I have eaten it in the past month that it has done me well. I figure, I will get the safest thing on the menu.... roast pork over rice... nothing to cook... just throw pieces of roast pork on rice and you are done with me.... the friggin pork had freezer burns on them!!!! and they boiled a piece of lettuce to make me feel better about myself probably for ordering something without veggies... stay away from West Side Chef Chinese food on 57th street.... you'll thank me.

one final thing. something on cnn.com cracked me up today. It was from one of the veep's speeches yesterday where he was talking about choosing Kerry as your president. He said "If we make the wrong choice, then the danger is that we'll get hit again -- that we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating from the standpoint of the United States," So let me get this straight... by choosing Kerry, there is more of a chance that terrorists will hit us again... But wasnt it while him and his boss were in office that we got hit 3 years ago? what has this pres done in the last 3 years to make our lives safer? attack Iraq? come on now... we arent even going after the guy who did this to us... instead we focus on something out in left field. morons.
